Always the overthinker, you've gone over it in your head a thousand times.
But you just can't shake that unsettled feeling.
You find yourself reacting to certain situations in ways that seem way out of proportion to what is happening around you. Some things just seem to strike a nerve and you respond in ways you don't even recognize. Afterward, you're left feeling guilty, frustrated, and confused about why it's so hard to just feel normal.
And then there's that little voice inside that whispers you're not enough. So you second guess and overthink and lay awake at night obsessing about what you should have done differently. It's exhausting, really. Truth be told, you're harsher on yourself than you'd ever be with anyone else.
Maybe you've tried therapy belfore.
You've analyzed it upside down and backwards, and its feels like you've been talking about this for-freaking-ever. But nothing seems to change. You're tired of just learning to cope. You're ready for a deeper level of healing that goes beyond quick fixes and surface level solutions.
Brainspotting bypasses the "thinking" part of the brain and accesses the deeper brain, where real happens.

HOW IT WORKS
Where you look affects how you feel.
Your memories are like files in a computer. They get processed, coded, and stored away in different areas of your brain. But when you experience something traumatic or emotionally upsetting, the system can go haywire and those files can get lost. Brainspotting helps us locate where these troubling files are stored so we can properly process them and store them in a way that helps ease the distress and discomfort they were once causing.
To begin, we'll work together to find a "brain spot" – a specific point in your visual field that corresponds to the area in your brain where an emotionally charged memory, trauma, or experience is stored. I'll ask you to hold that eye position by focusing on the spot while mindfully tuning in to what's bothering you. It's believed that this fixed eye position helps us access the subcortical brain where trauma and emotional pain are stored. Sometimes we might also use biolateral sound – soft background music or nature sounds that gently move between right and left ears – to help engage both sides of your brain during the process.

As you hold that eye position, your brain will begin to re-process the "files" as the painful memories are neutralized. The emotional charge associated with those memories begins to fade as you experience a new sense of calm, clarity, and relief. My role during a Brainspotting session is to help guide you, to support you, and to provide a safe space to allow your nervous system to naturally heal itself.
